Pediatric Clinic

  •  Kids are our future, and thus, it is imperative to provide them every  opportunity to thrive.  Certain pediatric conditions are obvious while  others are occult.  And certain conditions, such as amblyopia, have  better outcomes if detected and managed within the critical age period.   We recommended children getting their first eye exam at 6 months old to  check for ocular health and development.  By age 3, everything else,  including visual acuity, should be monitored on a yearly basis.

  • As you can imagine, it may not always be easy to put a child  through a regular eye exam.  Whether it be attention span,  comprehension, or physical limitations, special, kid-friendly equipment  may be required.  Also, your doctor needs to possess certain  communication skills to make your child comfortable and to get the most  of the assessment.  Here at Aperture, not only do we recommend your kids  to come in, we enjoy seeing them!  It is our goal to have your children  jump off the examination chair saying, "I can't wait to come back next  year!"
