Who is Covered By OHIP?

  • Kids (younger than 20) are covered by OHIP.

  • Seniors (older than 64) are covered by OHIP.

  • If you are between 20 and 64, you are covered by OHIP if you meet the following conditions:

  1. You have glaucoma
  2. You are diabetic
  3. You have visually significant cataracts
  4. You have a qualified corneal or retinal disorder
  5. You have active uveitis
  6. You have a qualified neurological or optic pathway disorder
  7. You are on medications that require toxicity screening, such as hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)
  8. You are on social assistance (ODSP or OW)

  • If you are not OHIP eligible, you may have insurance that covers your eye exams.  For your convenience, we deal with most insurance companies directly to avoid the hassle of having you pay out of pocket.
